1. Pre-Wash Preparation
Before washing your heated apparel, take these essential steps to protect the battery and heating elements:
-
Disconnect and remove the battery from the designated zipper pocket.
-
Secure the connector back into its compartment and zip the pocket closed.
-
Empty all other pockets and fasten any closures or zippers.
-
Review the care label for any fabric-specific washing instructions.
2. Washing
Down-Filled (Hand Wash Recommended):
- Use cold water (30°C or cooler) with a mild, pH-neutral detergent.
- Gently swirl the garment; never scrub or wring the fabric.
- Rinse thoroughly with fresh water and carefully squeeze out excess moisture.
Non-Down (Hand or Gentle Machine Wash):
- Wash in cold water (30°C or cooler) with mild detergent.
- If using a machine, select the gentle cycle and limit washing to 15–20 minutes.
3. Drying
Down-Filled:
-
Air Dry (Recommended): Lay flat or hang on a padded hanger in a well-ventilated space. Gently pat and reshape every 2–3 hours to keep down evenly distributed.
-
If Down Clumps: Lightly pat and shake by hand to separate clusters. For faster recovery, tumble dry on low heat with 2–3 clean tennis balls for 20–30 minute cycles, checking periodically until fully restored.
Non-Down:
- Air dry or tumble dry on low heat.
- Gently shake after drying to restore the garment's shape.
- No additional treatment needed; clumping is not a concern.
4. Post-Care & Storage
- Ensure the garment is completely dry before storing.
-
Down-Filled: Store loosely in a breathable cotton bag; never compress or vacuum-seal.
-
Non-Down: Store folded or slightly compressed in a breathable bag.
- Inspect stitching and heating elements every 3–6 months for wear or damage.
⚠️ What to Avoid
- Do not iron the garment.
- Avoid prolonged direct sunlight exposure.
- Never store down garments compressed or in plastic bags.
- Limit washing to no more than twice per season.
